Brief Origin Story
During the pandemic, we saw a need and leapt into action. Through the Farmer and YOU Program, we have produced and distributed 2M pounds of locally grown, high-quality, fresh food to communities in Northeast Florida. Our program is a win-win-win as it provides fair wages to local farmers, extends the nonprofit ability to serve their clients through deeply discounted produce, and clients are receiving these services at little ($7) to no cost.
The Need
The number of families in Northeast Florida that are food insecure has increased dramatically over the past three years. This requires solutions big and small, local and national, and collaboration across partners in every community.
Our Difference
First, our produce is locally grown by small and landless farmers and this program ensures they can continue to practice farming despite competition from larger producers. Our farmers are diverse (62% women, 38% minority) and committed to sustainably managing their land.
Second, our produce is locally grown, freshly picked, minimally handled by our volunteer packers, and delivered directly to clients through our nonprofit distribution partners.
Lastly, our partners are able to secure our produce at a bargain rate compared to other sources and reach clients that are underserved by other partners.
Our Impact
On average, 6-12 farmers participate.
35 acres sustainably managed to produce fresh/organic produce
1B gallons of water saved annually.
2M pounds of fresh produce distributed
Our Distribution Partners
We partner with local organizations that would not otherwise qualify for support from the local food bank.

Annual Budget
